Current Positions

Farm Market Maintenance Supervisor & Event Specialist – We are seeking a dynamic team player to join our farm family at our farm market! This varied position includes handling the maintenance of the farm market grounds, outdoor displays, event setup and breakdown, minor repairs and maintenance of farming equipment, providing support to our farm market and event staff, driving a tractor to host educational farm/group tours and more.

This is a currently an in season position (approximately April through December) – hours will vary, winters off with available unemployment benefits. Often working weekends and being adaptive to various schedules is a must. We offer competitive compensation based on experience.

What the job entails:

  • General maintenance in and around farm market, minor repairs on equipment.
  • Some mechanical, carpentry, electrical work.
  • Planning, preparing, setting up/breaking down and cleaning up farm grounds area for large public events and smaller private parties or tours.
  • Driving a tractor to host group tours and farm events.
  • Maintaining organization of work and storage areas.
  • Occasional farming/field work.
  • Occasional farm market pick-ups and/or deliveries.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in farming, agriculture and/or related experience, along with experience in maintaining property and buildings.
  • Experience in operating farm and/or heavy equipment such as tractors, forklift, etc.
  • Someone who is personable; comfortable with public speaking and working directly with the public, groups and families.
  • An independent, organized planner and thinker who takes the initiative to execute tasks while paying attention to detail.
  • A team player that likes the great outdoors – someone who can really handle diverse weather conditions. 

Weekend Party Hostess & Event Support – The ideal person for this position will be available to work Friday through Sunday (schedule will vary from week to week) and is a positive-natured, enthusiastic, and creative people-person with attention to deal and a strong focus on customer service. Prior experience working with children as a teacher, camp counselor, or other youth-related experience is a plus. (This position may be combined with the open position of School & Group Tour Staff for applicants who are interested in both weekday and weekend hours.)

Primary Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Set-up and clean-up for birthday parties and private events
  • Hosts birthday parties and leads activities for children.
  • Lead and facilitate children in activities in a safe and fun manner.
  • Good communication and public speaking skills

Agritourism Event Staff – Donaldson Farms hosts thousands of children and adults for private educational farm tours throughout the farming season. The ideal person for this position will enjoy working with kids and young students, be available Monday through Friday from 8am – 3pm to assist with educational school and group tour experiences on the farm, and preferably have an interest in farming. Prior experience working with children as a teacher, camp counselor, or other youth-related experience is a plus. (This position may be combined with the open position of Weekend Party Hostess and Event Staff for applicants who are interested in both weekday and weekend hours.)

  • Set-up and clean-up for group tours
  • Assist in leading groups to pick-your-own areas of the farm and other educational farm activities
  • Lead and facilitate tour participants in activities in a safe and fun manner.
  • Good communication and public speaking skills
